Thank you for your interest in becoming an intern for Cal VSA! The internship program hopes to give members an opportunity to get to know the inner workings of the organization, strengthen their leadership skills and bonds with other members, as well as the chance to express and execute their own ideas as future leaders of VSA. As an intern, you will be assigned to shadow a cabinet member based on your preference and work closely with them to better understand the duties required of that position. To get an idea of the cabinet positions and their duties, please read over our Constitution.
The general requirements of being an intern include:
- Attendance at all weekly cabinet meetings (Wednesdays 7:30-9pm) (you will be allowed to miss two meetings)
- Tabling on Sproul for 1 hour a week
- Acting as a leader for one VSA event
- Assisting your cabinet member with tasks as needed
Cal VSA Interns now also have the option of interning for 1-2 units on a P/NP basis. In order to receive units, interns will have to dedicate 45 hours per unit requested.
To fulfill these required hours, interns will be asked to participate in other programs offered by VSA such as:
- Community Volunteering Events
- Cal VSA VISION
- Cal VSA Culture Show
In addition, interns for units will be required to log their own hours and complete an essay upon completion of their internship. Please feel free to contact Candace Le (ivp@calvsa.com) for any concerns regarding the internship program.
Internship applications are closed for the Spring 2013 Semester.
